Innsbruck which has been inhabited since 1187 is Austria's fifth most populated city's with a population near 120,000 residents. This well visited city is also the capital of the state Tyrol and is set at an elevation of 1,883 feet. You will find the city has been built within a valley and is surrounded by Patscherkofel, Serles, and Nordkette.

If you are a keen skier then visiting Innsbruck is the ideal holiday destination with its fantastic skiing conditions and wide variety of ski resorts. Innsbruck is home to many beautiful historical buildings and monuments with the Hofkirche being one of the most popular. Dating back to 1553 and is of particular beauty with its Renaissance style Gothic architecture and Germain Gothic architecture influences.

There are numerous museums that should not be missed such as the Tiroler Landesmuseum and the Bell Museum which is over 400 years old.
